A Morane Saulnier MS-406 as flown by Jindřich Bartoš

The M.S.406 was a French Armée de l’Air fighter aircraft built by Morane-Saulnier from 1938. Numerically it was France’s most important fighter during the opening stages of World War II. Comparitively poorly powered, its good manoueverability was not enough and it was not a match for its foe, the Messerschmitt Bf109.
